Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.15-spaced; uses a 12-point Times New Roman font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The manuscripts

  1. The manuscripts are original article and has not been published in any journal,
  2. The manuscripts are the results of research, development or scientific findings, especially those that can impact on the progress of development and enhancement of competitiveness of regions and communities with the locus of Sragen Regency and other areas.
  3. The manuscripts should contribute novelty or state-of-the-art for academic development or real world application or both. The sentences should be plain and straightforward to avoid ambiguities.
  4. The article can be written in English or Indonesian in 10-15 pages of A4 paper (1,15 spaces) with margin (left: 3cm, right: 2,5cm, top: 2,5cm, bottom: 2,5cm) and 2 columns (1,27 spaces columns). Articles equipped with the abstract (less than 200 words) and key words.

Structure of the manuscripts

  1. The title should be clear and informative, but does not exceed 12 words.
  2. Author's names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions and an email account, without any academic title.
  3. Abstract and keywords. The abstract should be less than 200 words. Please provide the abstract in both English and Indonesian versions. The key words should be of 3 to 5 words or phrases.
  4. This section explains the background of the study, a review on the previous researches in the area, and aims of the manuscripts. It should be written without numbers and/or pointers.
  5. This section describes the tools of analysis along with the data and their sources.
  6. Results and discussion. This section explains the results and discussion of the study.
  7. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of the study. The conclusion(s) should be at the same order with ones discussed in the body of the manuscript.
  8. This section lists only the papers, books, or other types of publications referred in the body of the manuscript.

Specific Writing Format

1. Quotation Writing:
Quotations are ideas or thoughts of other authors who are used as a source of reading or reference in the script / article published in the Jurnal Litbang Sukowati Media Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kabupaten Sragen. Example of writing a Journal quotation as follows:

a) Direct Quotation
Putu (2008) mengatakan bahwa “akses adalah bagian layanan terpadu dalam database komputer yang dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna perpustakaan untuk memanfaatakan sumber daya informasi”.
Gerstberger dan Allen (1968) dalam Fidel dan Green (2004) mengatakan bahwa “aksesibilitas informasi memiliki keterkaitan dengan biaya penggunaan sumber informasi, seperti biaya upaya psikologis dan fisik. Untuk menilai upaya psikologis, penyedia jasa melakukan pengukuran kemudahan dalam penggunaan sumber informasi. Sedangkan penilaian upaya fisik, diukur dari aksesibilitas”.
Membaca adalah kegiatan interaksi antara pembaca dengan penulis yang kehadirannya diwakili oleh teks (Sumitro, dkk, 2011).

b) Indirect Quotation
Putu (2008) menjelaskan bahwa akses merupakan bagian dari sebuah layanan yang terpadu melalui database komputer untuk mempermudah pengguna perpustakaan dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya informasi.
Aksesibilitas sumber-sumber informasi memiliki keterkaitan dengan biaya penggunaan sumber informasi tertentu, yaitu biaya upaya psikologis dan fisik. Untuk menilai upaya psikologis, penyedia jasa mengukurnya dari kemudahan penggunaan sumber informasi, dan untuk menilai upaya fisik, diukur dari aksesibilitas (Gerstberger dan Allen, 1968, dalam Fidel dan Green, 2004).
Membaca merupakan kegiatan interaksi antara pembaca dengan penulis yang melalui teks (Sumitro, dkk, 2011).

2. Writing References:
References should be written in American Psycological Association (APA) Format:
a) For books, the format should follow the following example:
Moran, M., Seaman, J., & Tinti-Kane, H. (2012). How today's higher education faculty use social media. Boston: Pearson.
b) For a book with editor, the format should follow this example:
Cone, J.D. (1999). Observational assessment: Measure development and research issues. In P.C. Kendall, J.N. Butcher, & G.N. Holmbeck (Eds.), Handbook of research methods in clinical psychology (pp. 183-223). New York: Wiley.
c) For journal articles, the format should follow this example
Mahilum, J.V.(2011).The empty nest : Unvoiced concerns of the elderly. Asian Journal of Health : Social Qualitative Section. 1(1).16-30.
d) For internet references, the format should follow the following example
Clay, R. (2008, June). Science vs ideology: psychologists fight back about the misuse of research. Monitor on Psychology, 39(6). Diunduh dari http://www.apa.org/monitor/ Tanggal 10 Juni 2012.

How to send the manuscript

  1. The manuscript in microsoft word should be sent in to SUKOWATI Open Journal System at http://journal.sragenkab.go.id/index.php/sukowati/user/register
  2. A brief CV contains full name, academic title, institution, email, telephone, and mobile number should accompany the manuscript.
  3. After consulting with the peer reviewers, the decision of the manuscript will be informed to the authors by SUKOWATI OJS system.
