Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the impact of the Productive Migrant Village Program (Desmigratif) on the economic, social, and mental well-being of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who have returned to Indonesia. The Desmigratif Program is a government initiative aimed at empowering Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) through entrepreneurship training, business mentoring, and strengthening economic and social capacities in their home villages. This research employs a quantitative and qualitative approach involving 150 PMI respondents from five villages participating in the program. The research results indicate that this program has a significant positive impact on the economic well-being of migrant workers, with an average income increase of 71% after participating in the program. Migrant workers who took part in the program also reported improvements in entrepreneurial skills, particularly in financial management, product development, and marketing. In addition, this program contributes to the improvement of the quality of life for migrant workers and their families, including the ability to finance children's education and family health. In the social dimension, this program successfully strengthened the relationship between PMI and their families and communities, as well as reduced the levels of anxiety and stress they experienced during the social reintegration period. However, this research also found several obstacles in the implementation of the program, such as the difficulty of accessing business capital and the limited infrastructure in some villages. For the future, it is recommended that further research focus on evaluating more effective access to capital as well as the long-term impact of the Desmigrative Program on the economic resilience of migrant workers and villages.
